CPU Requirements for FiveM
FiveM uses a multi-threaded architecture, unlike Minecraft's single-threaded tick loop. It benefits from multiple cores — each resource runs in its own thread. For a 32-slot server: 3 dedicated CPU threads minimum. For 64 slots: 4-6 threads. For 128 slots: 8+ threads. CPU single-core speed still matters for the main game thread. Our AMD Ryzen 9 7950X with 5.7 GHz boost gives you both high single-core speed AND 16 cores for resource threading.
RAM Requirements by Player Count
RAM usage = base server (1 GB) + resources + players. Resource overhead: 30-80 MB per resource depending on complexity. Player overhead: 15-25 MB per player. For a 32-slot RP server with 30 resources: 4 GB (1 GB base + 1.5 GB resources + 0.8 GB players + overhead). 64 slots with 60 resources: 8 GB. 128 slots with 100 resources: 16 GB. Always monitor actual usage in txAdmin and leave 20% headroom for peak hours.
Storage: NVMe vs SSD vs HDD
NVMe SSD is strongly recommended for FiveM. Every player connect, resource load, and database query hits storage. On HDD, resource loading times are 3-5x slower and database queries block during peak player joins. All CyberNex FiveM plans use NVMe SSDs — this eliminates disk IO as a bottleneck. If self-hosting, NEVER run a FiveM server on an HDD — players will experience 30-60 second connection times instead of 5-10 seconds.
Network and Bandwidth
FiveM server bandwidth: 50-100 Kbps per player for normal gameplay, 200-500 Kbps per player during high-sync scenarios (30+ players in one area). 32 players: 10-15 Mbps bandwidth recommended. 64 players: 20-30 Mbps. 128 players: 50+ Mbps. Our plans include 10 Gbps network uplinks — bandwidth won't be your bottleneck. More importantly, you need low-latency connectivity: our global nodes ensure sub-30ms ping for most players.
DDoS Protection Requirements
FiveM servers are frequent DDoS targets — competitive servers often attack each other. You need game-aware DDoS protection that understands FiveM traffic patterns. Generic protection often blocks legitimate FiveM heartbeat packets. Our 17 Tbit mitigation network includes FiveM-specific filtering rules that differentiate player traffic from attack traffic. Every plan includes this at no extra cost.
Choosing the Right Plan
Starter community (32 slots, basic RP): FiveM 4 GB plan. Growing community (64 slots, full RP with jobs/economy/housing): FiveM 8 GB plan. Large network (128 slots, 100+ resources, custom scripts): FiveM 16 GB plan or VPS 4. For server networks with multiple FiveM instances: our VPS or VDS plans let you run multiple servers on one machine. All plans include instant scaling — upgrade with zero downtime.
